Its history on a few square meters. The Veerhaven is not the home of skyscrapers and modern architecture. Its just the opposite! The harbour filled with old sailboats is surrounded by historic buildings. The Parklaan, the street that runs from the parc towards the harbour is home to well known lawyers, large international shipping companies and notaries.
Its a great place to look out on the river, enjoy the sun and have a bite. Cafe Loos is situated in one of the buildings that looks out on the ships. Just a little further up the road there are a couple of fine restaurants. From here you can take a watertaxi to Hotel New York. I just walk a little further up the river and meet a friend at ‘De Ballentent’. A place famous for its meatballs and its Rotterdam somewhat arrogant attitude of the waiters.
Still some history left
